Just eight launches but even that was a bonus given the forecast or rain and low cloud. However, there was hint of Wave around that delayed the onset of rain and punched holes in the cloud until 1300 when we had to scrub.
A small turnout with several of the more senior members of the team away on holiday. Barbados seems to have called for one and for another the choice was a Saga “Glad-to-be-Gray” European river trip.
Nice to see some of our MEF gliding scholarship brave the conditions and we were delighted that in the short window of opportunity we managed to get all of them away. The pick of the flights went to Aron who, flying with instructor Will Dean, managed to get into weak Wave on the first flight of the day.
With only one two-seater available, it was only the need to get others flown that brought them back to terra firma having climbed c500ft after release
At one stage we had a break from the normal routine as two Junos departed for a Remembrance Fly Pass over Shrewsbury, returning later in light rain.
Hoss took a couple of trips with Geoff M and it’s always handy to have the youngsters on the airfield to run the wing with Becky doing the honours.
Beccky’s flying is really coming along well and she completed her first landing today – top job Becky.🤩
With persistent rain falling……
……that was the day finished. It only remained to reset Hangar 4 after the Remembrance Day parade rehearsals and complete an oil change on WG – thanks for your help Hoss.
