SISTERON 2024 26 Apr 24 - PARCOURS COMBATTANTS

“Parcours Combattants”.  The “Parcours” refers to a range of ridges and mountains in the French Alps to the East of Sisteron and about 100km in length.

With rain today at Sisteron Gally, Alan, Alun and Conner went off to look at the allocated French land-out fields.  This is mandatory training prior to flying on the Parcours as they lie outside the 20:1 glide back to Sisteron.

There is a reference book of landing fields and the numbers on the chart relate to the landing fields - field number 331 in the book = 331 on the chart.

Of particular interest today was Marcoux, Field No 331, situated to the south of Mt Blayeul, and a stepping stone to the Parcours.
