Flying Report Boxing Day Fri 26 Dec 25
A fine Winter’s day with all hard surfaces at Shawbury complete and not a sign of a contractor.
We had expected to be back on the hard surfaces during this break period at Shawbury but, sadly, we are still confined to attempting to operate off the grass. So whilst it was the perfect day for flying, after the TMG test launch flown by Colin……
……and one launch with Will in the K21 it was evident that the rolling resistance of the grass was too great and we abandoned any further attempt to launch a glider.
Thanks (not🤣🤣) Will for the great aerial shots and glad you enjoyed your trip whilst the rest of us looked up!
For those who wished to dust off the excesses of Christmas Day the TMG was available with either Nigel of Colin as P1…..
……and the hangar fairies got to grips with the annual on the club Astir (R66).
Reluctantly we have to accept that it is unlikely that we will get back to operations off the hard surfaces until mid-January, a further four lost flying days, and the impact on recency and currency, together with the loss of planned income is of concern.
